Every bodily function is under the control of the brain and nervous system, which is protected by the spinal column and vertebrae. When vertebrae become misaligned or do not move correctly, it is called subluxation. This interferes with the nerve energy transmission to and from the cells, tissues, organs and muscles. This adversely affects the health of all body systems. The objective is to remove spinal subluxation by implementing non-invasive gentle adjustments, decreasing the obstructions by restoring motion and improving functional limitations. Structural treatments practiced at Health In Balance include:
- Diversified Technique
- Motion Palpation Coupled Motion Adjustments
- Activator Technique
- Thompson Technique
- Webster Technique
- Applied Kinesiology
Non-Surgical Spinal Rehabilitation System:
Our Non-Surgical Spinal Rehabilitation System (SRS) is an effective treatment for the relief, management, and prevention of back/neck pain and sciatica caused by bulging, herniated and degenerative discs, as well as spinal stenosis and facet syndrome. At Health In Balance, our Spinal Rehabilitation System is the most comprehensive of its kind, using a dynamic combination of state-of-the-art technologies and therapies including a CHEK Postural Core evaluation. Individualized specific stretches and exercises are then prescribed to be used during treatment at home.
Spinal decompression involves gently lengthening and decompressing the spine, creating healthy negative pressure within the discs. Negative pressure helps reposition bulging discs and puts them back into their natural position, which alleviates pressure placed on nerves and allows for nutrients, oxygen, and fluids to flow into the spine again.
Applied Kinesiology (AK):
A system, which evaluates structural, biochemical, emotional, and electromagnetic aspects of health. It employs manual muscle testing combined with other standard methods of diagnosis. It is a non-invasive system of evaluating body function that is unique in the healing arts and has become a dynamic movement in healthcare.

Trigger Point Injection Therapy:
A trigger point injection (TPI) is an injection that is given directly into the trigger point for pain management. Trigger point injection is used when a patient has a painful trigger point, especially when pain radiates from the trigger point to the surrounding area. Our injections are made from all natural and plant based products.
We offer therapeutic massage performed by our highly trained licensed massage therapists. Massages stimulate circulation, relieve muscle tension and promote relaxation. When done in conjunction with our other structural treatments, it provides lasting relief. Massage allows you a quiet time to focus on yourself and become more connected to your body.
Active Release Technique (ART):
This technique is used to restore optimal texture, motion, and function of the soft tissue and release entrapped nerves, muscles or blood vessels.
The Graston Technique®, originally developed by athletes, is changing the way clinicians — including physical and occupational therapists, hand therapists, chiropractors and athletic trainers — and patients view treatment of acute and chronic soft tissue injuries.
Graston Technique® is an innovative, evidence-based form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
Deep Muscle Stimulator (DMS):
The DMS uses percussion and mechanical vibrations, to penetrate deep into the muscle tissue, loosening contracted muscles and fascial scar tissue and stimulating weak, flaccid muscles. This muscle “balancing” can decrease pain and spasms, help posture and promote more efficient movement.
The use of a hand held vibracussor instrument for muscle, fascial and ligament problems. The vibracussor instrument delivers waves of percussion impulses deep into the tissues of the body. It also promotes an increase in circulation and lymphatic flow and decrease in muscle spasm. It is ideal for improving joint mechanics.
A highly useful tool for adjusting subluxations, trigger point work, and joint movement. This leads to decreases in pain and spasms, increases connective tissues repair and resolves scar tissue and fibrotic adhesions.
TurboSonic® consists of a sonic (sound) vibrating platform that the user stands on or performs exercises on which stimulates bones, muscles, blood vessels and cells in a manner that promotes their rapid development and circulation.

- the effects of stress
- the appearance of cellulite
The application of ice to remove heat from the body. Its goal is to decrease inflammation, decrease pain and spasm, promote vasoconstriction, reduce tension, and relax muscles.
Is a natural taping modality that treats the muscles of the body by assisting the removal of lymphatic fluid buildup in a sore or sprained muscle? When applied to the muscle it improves the overall joint range of motion by relaxing the tight muscle. It is a supportive modality that reduces over extension and over contraction of the muscle thereby speeding up the healing time of an injured muscle.
Ultrasound machines utilize high or low frequency sound waves which are transmitted to the surrounding tissues. They penetrate the muscles to cause deep tissue/muscle warming and can decrease inflammation. This promotes tissue relaxation and is useful in treating muscle tightness and spasms. The warming effect of the sound waves also causes increased circulation.
